JANE and Bernice, who are among Ghana’s finest duos, are putting together their first ever concert dubbed “Flashes of Jane and Bernice” at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The concert scheduled for August 9 is a charity show to solicit for funds in aid of the Ghana Heart Foundation in support of needy patients, who cannot pay for the high cost of treatment at the hospital. Jane and Bernice said they contacted the Ghana Heart Foundation and after learning of the plight of some patients, decided to organise a concert in support of the foundation.

Initialy they said the Foundation was sceptical because it claimed many organisations use their name without the foundation earning a dime, but they agreed nonetheless to be partners with Jane and Bernice owing to their credibility and song ministration.

Jane and Bernice won the best gospel song award at last year’s Ghana Music Awards. The group has successfully released five albums and toured the United States of America, many European countries and parts of Asia.

The duo told The Mirror that our fans have always seen us perform on other people’s shows; they have never had the opportunity to experience a show put up by us, so we owe this concert to our numreous fans who have been supportive throughout the past years”.

Other seasoned gospel artistes who will be supporting Jane and Bernice are Jude Lomotey, Esther Smith, Suzy and Matt, Soul Winners, Noble Nketia and many other guest stars. The duo assured lovers of gospel music that “the concert will see an expression of our entire musical history from our first to the current album”.

Sponsors of the concert include the Ghana Heart Foundation, Channel R, Metro T.V, Nevardian Resource Centre, Radio Gold, Breadth Seed Press, Sovereign Music and many others who are contributing in diverse ways to make the concert a grand one.
