Jay Baba's 'Money' wins Afrobeats, Afro Pop award at GMA-USA

Ghanaian musician based in Rochester NY, Jay Baba has expressed his gratitude for winning Afro Pop, Afrobeats Song of the Year (USA) at the 2024 Ghana Music Awards USA.

The prestigious event, which marked the 5th anniversary of the annual award scheme, took place on Saturday, August 17, 2024, in New Jersey.

Jay Baba known in real life as Yahaya Alhassan won the award with his popular song titled 'Money' which was produced by award-winning beat-maker, Willisbeat.

Receiving the award on stage as monitored by MyNewsGh.com's Amansan Krakye, Jay Baba used the opportunity to thank his fans and those who voted for him.

"I'm grateful for your votes and your support over the years in my music journey and for helping me win so many awards and I promise to continue to deliver good music," he said.

The GMA USA is renowned for celebrating excellence and hard work among musicians within the United States, Ghana, and beyond, and this year's edition was no exception.

Other artistes who also clinched awards include Nana NYC, Baaba Lin, Nacee, Kofi Kinaata, Strongman, Diana Hamilton and also witnessed performances by Choirmaster and others.

This adds up to the amazing collection of awards which has been won by Jay Baba in his music journey and proves his worth as an astute musician.
