Joe Mettle appeals to automobile companies to sponsor VGMAs

Joseph Oscar Mettle better known by his stage name Joe Mettle, has appealed to automobile companies to sponsor the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).

The award-winning Ghanaian gospel singer, songwriter and reigning Artiste of the Year, told Sokoohemaa Kukua, in a recent interview that, although he received GHc10, 000 as prize package for his award last year, it was not enough.

He believes the automobile companies can take advantage of the event and sponsor with a car so the ultimate winner can go home with it.

Joe Mettle managed to pick nominations in this year's event. He followed in second place with 7 Nominations which also include the Artiste of the Year.

Shatta Wale, who has been away from the VGMA for a while made a strong comeback sweeping 6 nominations, finding his way up to the Artiste of the Year category.

The main event slated for 14th of April 2018 at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) will be preceded by a Nominee Jam in Cape Coast on March 24.

There will also be an after-event celebration jam at Tema, on Saturday, April 28.
