Joe Mettle explains why most gospel artistes cannot release songs

Reigning artiste of the year, Joe Mettle, has indicated that the reason behind the decrease in the number of songs produced in a year by gospel artistes is the fact that music has become too expensive currently.

According to VGMA 2018 artiste of the year nominee the music industry has evolved over the years and to him, he believes the industry is growing but it has become too expensive to produce music hence the minimal number of songs produced by artiste in a year.

He said whiles speaking on Accra-based Rainbow Radio that ‘’it is growing. I feel that it is growing. I feel there’s not been a lot of songs like before…The Music keeps being expensive… We used to release a lot of songs but lately, the numbers have gone down”.

HE indicated that “Some of the artiste are pursuing other professions and are not releasing like before. But in all that, the industry is growing. There’s been a lot of improvement over the years”.
