Actor John Dumelo has waded into the controversy surrounding Majid Michel and the supposed tapping of Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson’s boobs.
An interesting photograph which captured Majid supposedly playing around the sexy breasts of Mercy Johnson became a subject of news recently. Dumelo, in an apparent defense of Majid, last Saturday launched an attack on the media, describing journalists who carried the said story as people who were only “hungry” for news and thus made a big deal out of the photo.
John, in an interview with Sammy B on Hitz Fm, sought to create an impression that the breast-touching saga was not news worthy. “If you looked at the picture very well, you would see that he wasn’t holding her gallons. I mean we all take those kinds of pictures.
“I don’t know. I think it just people who are hungry for news and hungry for information. Any picture they see, they just put it out and try to create something out of it,” John added. Majid himself had told New-One that he did not touch the actress’s breasts though the photographs made it seem he was enjoying the breasts.
“I did not touch her breasts. It is the perspective {sic} from which the photo was taken that is creating the problem. From a distance you will think that my hand was on her chest but it was not. I was not holding her breasts,” Majid told News-One in an exclusive interview.
The photo of Majid and Mercy raised eyebrows in Ghana as it made people ask questions about their true relationship. But Majid said they were just working colleagues. John’s reaction confirms reports that Majid was not happy with stories that accompanied the photograph.
According to him, photographs had become a big deal in Ghana’s movie industry and the media, saying he was nearly caught in Majid’s kind of situation when he took pictures with Ama K. Abebrese in a pool. “It was just a couple of weeks ago that I took pictures with Ama K. We were in the pool and the person who took the shots showed a little part of the pool.
So people thought I was not wearing anything and I was hugging her and my hands …I nearly tagged her but I didn’t,” he added. On the show, John denied claims that in most of his interviews, he lies.
