John Dumelo attends Ngoma Awards in Zambia

Actor and philanthropist John Dumelo was a special guest at the Ngoma Awards held on Wednesday December 19, 2012 in Zambia.

The Ghanaian actor was there at the invitation of the organizers. He presented the award for Best Actor.

When he stepped on stage to present the award, Dumelo was met with loud cheers. Even more enticing to the crowd was his attempt to greet them in their native language – Bemba. “Mulishani”, a word which means “How are you” was what Dumleo used to wow the audience.

The Ngoma Awards is organized by the National Arts Council of Zambia and sponsored by Zambian Breweries.

The award ceremony honours deserving heads in Zambia’s arts industry (film, music, literature, visual arts, theater, and dance).

This year’s ceremony was held on the theme: “Putting value on the arts”.
