The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential and parliamentary Primaries is sure to get very entertaining in every sense of the word, after Razz Newspaper got the alert that, another stalwart in the entertainment industry , John Dumelo , has been mentioned for a position as a member of Parliament.

Some Influential Party executives, many foot soldiers and supporters of the party are calling on the actor to contest for the MP slot on November 7, 2015 when the party goes for its primaries, the paper learnt.

Razz Newspaper Reporter Mustapha Inusah contacted the award winning actor/Entrepreneur on the alert and he confirmed receiving calls from persons within the party in relation to contesting for MP.

He stated that his ambition for the future is to be president of Ghana one day, but he needs time to focus on other projects before he can fully venture into politics.

“Yes , to be president, I surely need to start from somewhere, that’s being an MP, but I am not ready yet because I Have lot of projects that I have started and since politics and the MP role needs time and dedication, I will consider it after the next four years” He explained.

Commenting on the calls coming through for him to participate in the coming elections, the actor stated that, he has been receiving such requests for quite a while, but the pressure increased recently when NDC announced the date for their primaries .

“Though I am still in the united states, I still receive calls, SMS, Whatapp chat with members of the NDC party with some leading members asking me why I am not representing my people ” he said.

He went on to reveal that, most of the people who are suggesting he contest , tell him that, he is doing more for the society through his charity works which include the building of schools and various donations to the less privileged and that could do way more if he attains the MP Position.

The actor is said to be very popular at the party’s grassroots in the central Region , Ashanti Region where his mother comes from and the Volta Region where his father hails.

Considering his popularity in these regions, he hinted that he wouldn’t mind contesting at any constituency within the regions, but he believes the people of Volta region needs him more.so if he decides in future to contest , he might surely go for any seat in the Volta Region.
