John Dumelo launches fashion line, J.Melo

Its official, Ghanaian star actor John Dumelo has launched his fashion brand, J.Melo at a star-studded ceremony at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra. Although the initial line that was launched included only jewelry, hair pieces, handbags, casual African apparels and African-print boxer shorts, the actor hinted that the J.Melo line will soon expand to include other fashion accessories such as shoes and fragrance.

The jewelry line currently include necklaces, rings, earrings and wrist bangles made from beads, gold sapphire and other precious stones. The handbags are designed for J.Melo by Ani Siyah just as the other range of products are produced by other designers.

The launch was attended by top Ghanaian celebrities including Majid Michel, Nadia Buari, Jackie Appiah, Ama K Abebrese, Yvonne Okoro, Joselyn Dumas, Yvonne Nelson, and Nollywood actor, Desmond Elliot among others. According John Dumelo, he was inspired to go into the fashion industry by friends who believed that he should have his own brand. He also hinted that 20% on all sales would go toward the John Dumelo Foundation which aims to support several identified groups of needy in society.
