Some students of the Ghana Law School (GSL) in Accra yesterday afternoon had the laugh of their lifetime when they witnessed NPP’s ‘all die be die’ warrior, John Kumah, pee into his pants at the school’s premises after a bailiff cornered and served him with a writ based on a court action brought against him by Mr. Ato Ahwoi, Board Chairman of GNPC. After the bailiff introduced himself to John Kumah and then held out the writ to him, the NPP activist attempted to take to his heels but the presence of other students looking on stopped him in his tracks. So, he stood by his car at the parking lot of the school with the court bailiff urging him on to collect and sign that he has received the writ. It was at this juncture that one of the students noticed that the front of John Kumah’s trousers was becoming wet.
As the student broke out in laughter, the NPP activist who claims to be a member of the so-called Young Patriots had no choice than to accept the writ, sit in his yellow saloon car and drive away. This finally brought to an end weeks of the hide and seek game that he had played with the bailiff who had been tasked by an Accra Fast Track High Court to serve him with the writ of the case brought against him by Mr. Ahwoi.
The Board Chairman of the GNPC commenced a GH¢10million suit at the Accra Fast Track Court on Thursday, August 25, 2011 against John Kumah for libel and malicious falsehood after the latter had insinuated immoral conduct on his part.
John Kumah, who refused to apologize for his comment, choosing instead to repeat it had since August been on the run from the bailiff to avoid being served with the writ.
However, luck eluded him yesterday when he went to the Ghana Law School for an interview to enable him pursue his professional law course. The bailiff arrived at the premises of the school and after verifying John Kumah’s identity from some students, settled down to wait for him to complete his interview.
When the NPP activist finally came out of the interview room, the bailiff followed him to his car and pretending to be a student as well, engaged him in a conversation by his car. Having established the identity of John Kumah beyond every reasonable doubt, the bailiff then introduced himself, told the NPP activist of his mission and held the writ out to him.
John Kumah, according to eye-witnesses, immediately began to walk hurriedly away but when he saw that the bailiff was following him and other students were watching with interest, returned to his car, and while trying to talk the bailiff into not serving him with the writ, allegedly pissed in his trousers out of fear, sending the students who were following closely what was happening, roaring with laughter.
The GNPC board chairman, through his lawyers, Bram Larbi, Beecham and Co, an Accra-based legal firm jointly sued Joy FM and Asempa FM, both Accra-based radio station as well as Multi Media Broadcasting Company Limited, which owns the two stations, for providing Mr. Kumah ample airtime and platform to make disparaging remarks about him.
