Silver Screen goddess, Joselyn Dumas has lent her voice to downplay the recent ALS Ice Bucket Water Challenge suggesting that it’s an unwanted diversion from the numerous challenges that Africa is facing currently.
Joselyn disclosed this on her twitter page yesterday. Her comments come a day after fellow actress; Yvonne Nelson reacted to many nominations from people to take up the challenge, saying, “Africa is not America, and we should face our problems."
Africa is undoubtedly, the poorest continent on this earth with pathetic economic growth statistics. The gap between the rich and the poor in Africa also keeps widening by the day.
Amid the suffering, many Africans living in abject poverty believe there’s hope, and therefore, they look up to our heroes who by dint of hard work and the gift of talent have been able to make enough wealth for themselves.
Aside that, the opinions of celebs all over the world matter.
Joselyn Dumas, therefore, thinks that the energy and time being dissipated on the ALS ice bucket water challenge by her colleague African stars, public figures and celebrities should rather be channeled into finding solutions to Africa’s problems like Cholera, Ebola and Malaria.
