Gospel Album of the year winner at the 2014 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Joyce Blessing and former ToonToom Music label signed artist Obibini Boafo are the latest crop of musicians to join Zylofon Music, a record label owned by Zylofon Media, creative arts and entertainment conglomerate based in Accra, Ghana.

The two were unveiled in a short ceremony at the Zylofon Media offices in East Legon, Accra on Wednesday, June 28, 2017.

Speaking at the press briefing, Samuel Atuobi Baah, Head of Communications at Zylofon Media revealed both artists had signed 4-year deals with the label and remained a business to the label in the years ahead.

“It’s a four-year complete record deal and we’ve given them goodwill money and again, we are going to make sure that out of the four years they give us some good songs and some albums including refresher courses both locally and internationally and Hyundai Sonata for each of them," he said.

“Because we want them to live comfortably, we are preparing their accommodation aka their houses. That we believe shouldn’t take more that a year and when everything is done, Obibini and Joyce Blessing would be moving into their houses provided by the record label,” Samuel added.

Answering a question as to the exact number of albums the artists are required to produce, Samuel Atuobi explained the contract requires that both artists produce four albums each for the label within the contract time. He was however quick to add that the requirements were not too strict on the artists and that, it had some escape clauses.

Both artists thanked the company and promised to deliver as expected of them.
