In the nightclub business, no single owner seems to maintain a top position for long.

However, some nightclubs have managed to remain consistently popular for years, leading to speculation about their success.

Many have claimed that these establishments are backed by black magic (juju).

In an interview with D-Black on GhanaWebTV’s Talkertainment, the host, Elsie Lamar, asked him about the belief that some businesses rely on juju for success.

D-Black affirmed this notion, stating, “I believe so; I strongly believe so.”

As the owner of three vibrant establishments, including a nightclub, lounge, and fine dining restaurant, D-Black noted that while people often resort to juju to stay relevant, these practices don’t provide lasting results.

“It exists, but I don't believe these things last forever. God is the ultimate. If you don’t believe in God, whatever lesser god you turn to will eventually hunt you. You will pay the price,” he cautioned.

He also emphasised that he wouldn’t encourage anyone to engage in such practices.

D-Black also acknowledged the challenge of maintaining consistency in the nightclub scene, especially with the constant influx of new competitors.

“The most challenging part of managing a nightclub in Ghana is consistency. New venues keep popping up, so the question is, how do you keep your place exciting enough for people to return every weekend? That’s the toughest part,” he explained.

“This is my ninth year in this business. I started when I was only 29, back when there were only a few nightclubs. Now, there are about 100. People will ask, ‘Why your place?’ It’s all about the experience, and creating that experience is the most difficult thing to achieve,” he stated.
