Kumawood actor, Bill Asamoah has charged public personalities to mirror the free spirit and open-mindedness of the late ace broadcast journalist, Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong (KABA).

The actor who registered his presence at the one week observation of KABA’s passing Saturday revealed that he had no personal relationship with the late presenter of Asempa FM albeit the testimonies trumpeted about him exemplifies a radio icon who lived well.

Mr. Asamoah said the positive comments which have been poured out following the death of KABA gives him reason to believe that his humility got him into the good books of lots of personalities across the country.

“I knew KABA from afar…he was not a personal friend but from afar I can see and judging from what people are saying about him it tells you that he was one person who was very humble, he was one person who was dedicated to what he did as a journalist and to me it’s not surprising that they are celebrating a legend,” he noted.

“And one thing that humbles me a lot is a legend at 37, it tells you that he did quite a lot.”

Bill Asamoah who eulogized KABA expressed that the death of broadcaster has awakened him to live a humble life which can be celebrated when he dies.

He said, “Becoming a celebrity or being adored as a celebrity in Ghana, you are tempted in one way or the other tempted to be arrogant because someway somehow you might want to be in your corner and somebody will push you and if you don’t take care you might react in a certain manner which is not favourable and you might not know what the person will go and tell the other person.”

"In all this, you have to be humble and that is one thing that I’m learning from this because if myself, should I pass away by the time God should take my life and I have half of this crowd to even come and then pay homage then it tells you that I did well. So it’s something I’m learning from whatever that is going on here that I need to be humble,” he added.

KABA until his sudden death on Saturday November 18, 2017 was the host of Asempa FM’s afternoon political show, ‘Ekosii Sen’.

One week after his death a ceremony was held in remembrance of him at the forecourt of The Multimedia Group at Kokomlemle which saw hundreds of sympathisers flocking the premises to commiserate with the family and colleges.

His funeral has been scheduled for December 15-17, 2017 in Accra, the family head, Elder George Nyarko, disclosed Saturday, at the one-week celebration of the late presenter’s passing.

KABA as he was affectionately called was survived by a wife, Valentina Ofori Afriyie and a seven-month-old baby girl.
