Two of Ghana’s most listened to radio presenters Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD) and Jeremie Van-Garshong, are headed to the re-branded Live 91.9 FM.
The two broke the news Thursday on Starr Drive, hosted by Bola Ray.
KOD and Van-Garshong join an already impressive lineup that include MsNaa, Sammy Forson, Jay Foley and Antoine Mensah among other young talents.
Of the two, it is Jeremie who returns to an all too familiar set up – having worked at LIVE FM before its acquisition by EIB in January this year, and also at YFM where she worked with Foley, Forson and MsNaa.
The youth-friendly wing of the media group, LIVE FM will share the same storey facility with its sister station Kasapa 102.3 FM. The facility, located at Adabraka, a suburb of Accra, is a modern day complex.
Official commercial broadcast date has been set for early May, in what handlers say will fend off competition quickly, and give LIVE the kind of cushioning it needs to survive on urban radio.
EIB acquired LIVE in January this year, and has since signed on some talents on local radio to help it build a successful brand. Its test transmission has been solid so far.
EIB’s other properties include Starr FM (Accra), Empire FM (Takoradi), Cool FM (Cape Coast), Hi FM (Koforidua) and Agoo FM (Nkawkaw), as well as the Daily Heritage newspaper.
