KSM Goes Wild On Radio

King of Satire and host of variety TV show ‘Thank God It’s Friday’ (TGIF) Kwaku Sintim Misah (KSM), went wild on Peace FM over a comedy event which was using his name to advertise without his consent.

The ace actor and broadcaster got furious and described Redeemer Worwui, Administrator of Event House Ghana Limited as a pathological liar when he (Redeemer) was claiming to have signed a contract with him on Peace FM’s “Entertainment Review”. “I’m sure Redeemer is listening and I want to tell him that he is a pathological liar.

Let me advise him, I don’t know whether he is a young man or old man trying to get into this industry. I want him to know that you don’t start by misleading the public”, he said, with an aggressive tone.

According to KSM, Redeemer called him some time ago to tell him about a comedy show (Ghana Must Laugh), he wanted to put up and said he wanted him on the programme. He directed him to speak to his special assistant Linda, who is in charge of his bookings but, Redeemer never showed up and he never called.

The next thing he heard was his name being used to advertise the event on radio and in the papers. He said, he got to know about this when Koo Fori whose name was also on the same event without his consent, called him (KSM) to register his displeasure and ask for contacts to the organizers.

Asked what he is going to do about this, KSM said he was going to the Registrar General’s Department to check if Events House Ghana Limited is truly registered as a limited liability company as the name suggests, and then prepare a law suit against the company.

Meanwhile, other names on the bill to perform on the event which was supposed to come off last Saturday May 1, 2010, including Koo Fori, Agya Koo, Sarkodie, Nana Boro, Ruff and Smooth and Obrafour, have all confirmed to peacefmonline that, they have not signed any contract with Event House to perform on “Ghana Must Laugh”.

Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD) who used his voice for the radio jingle and was supposed to MC for the event also told peacefmonline that Redeemer is not a credible person. He alleged that a cheque which Redeemer gave him, bounced when he tried to withdraw the money from the bank.

However, Redeemer still insists that he spoke to each one of them but he had a little problem with sponsorship so he couldn’t make any commitment to them.

He explained that time was not on his side so he decided to use their name and pay them later after the show. He also disclosed that the comedy show has been postponed to take place on July 1, 2010 at the Pools side of Shangri-La Hotel.

He directed patrons who have already bought tickets but cannot wait till July 1, to go for a refund. The gate fee was GH¢20 (advance) and GH¢50 at the gate.
