Kantanka TV's Abena Kyei Boakye bags top award

Host of Fontomfrom on Kantanka TV, Abena Kyei Boakye, has been crowned the Most Outstanding Woman of the Year for her remarkable contribution towards building the media industry in the country at the just-ended 6th edition of Medimafo Ghana Arts and Entertainment Awards 2024.

The esteemed recognition underscores her exceptional leadership and the rapid ascent of the Fontomfrom morning show on Kantanka TV in Ghana's media landscape.

Held at the auditorium of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, the Medimafo Ghana Arts and Entertainment Awards ceremony celebrated Ghana's top businesses and individuals driving positive change in the country.

The event was attended by high-profile dignitaries, including representatives from the Ghana government, diplomatic corps, and traditional institutions.

Abena Kyei Boakye expressed her profound gratitude to her family, friends, viewers, and most importantly, the companies that believe in her brand.

According to her, the honour is a testament to her unwavering focus on meeting and exceeding expectations while adhering to rigorous quality standards.

She specifically mentioned the founder of Kantanka Automobile, Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, for his encouragement and support always.

"I am extremely grateful for such a wonderful milestone at this highest magnitude. I started from a humble beginning, but now I am extremely overwhelmed with this stunning achievement. I take this opportunity to urge the young ones to keep pushing and always remain focused by not giving up in life," she stated with smiles.

Abena Kyei emphasized the need for improved working conditions for media personalities and stronger client trust to elevate Ghana's media sector.

Profile of Abena Kyei Boakye

Abena Kyei Boakye started her basic school at Asawase Junior High School and completed in 2004. She continued at Berekum Senior High School and completed in 2007. Between 2009 and 2012, she studied Agricultural Engineering at Sunyani Polytechnic.

In 2013, she went to Methodist University College to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and completed in 2016. In 2022, Abena obtained an MA degree in International Relations from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). She just completed a Law Degree at Kaaf University College.

In 2011, Abena was the 3rd runner-up for the most-watched television pageantry in the country, Ghana’s Most Beautiful, organized by TV3. Between 2020-2021, she was the brand ambassador for 21st Clinic.

She is currently a Brand Ambassador for Ghana Youth Awards. Abena Kyei Boakye has worked with Kantanka Media Limited and is currently the brand ambassador for Kantanka Immaculate Herbal Supplement.
