Keche Joshua, one-half of the popular Ghanaian music duo Keche, has publicly apologised for his recent outburst directed at fellow artiste King Paluta.

Speaking on Hitz FM on September 4, 2024, Keche Joshua clarified that he harbours no ill feelings towards King Paluta and expressed regret for the harsh words he used in a video he shared, attributing his actions to anger and frustration.

“I have no problem with King Paluta. He's my brother…People have pointed out that I used some words in the video I shared. I was angry, that is why I used those words. I’m so sorry about it. I don’t want this to lead to any hate between Keche’s fans and King Paluta’s fans. I’m so sorry about the words I used. I have no bad blood with King Paluta or his management,” he said.

Keche Joshua explained that his frustration stemmed from King Paluta’s lack of promotion for their collaborative song. He noted that while King Paluta has actively supported other artistes, including Eno Barony, he did not put the same effort into promoting their joint project.

"The thing is that we collaborated with him. The song belongs to both of us. He can perform the song anywhere. So if I collaborate with him, I expect him to at least put some energy into it. The energy that he put into supporting other artistes and promoting Eno Barony—we wanted him to put the same energy into promoting the song that he put his voice in. But as he wasn’t promoting the song, it looked as if he didn’t want to do any song with us in the first place. That's what we felt," Joshua stated.

Joshua further mentioned that although they did not pay King Paluta for the collaboration, he would still receive royalties from the song’s streams and popularity.

He added that he had attempted to reach out to King Paluta, who is currently in the UK, but was unsuccessful. He spoke with King Paluta’s manager and made arrangements for a music video for the song whenever King Paluta was ready.

“I spoke to the manager but was informed that King Paluta is in the UK right now. But I was told to talk to somebody to get his size and everything. So the arrangement is there; when King Paluta is ready to shoot, I will be happy,” he said.

What Happened?

In August, Keche Joshua took to social media to criticise King Paluta for not promoting their collaborative song, "My Father," released in June 2024. He accused King Paluta of disrespect and noted that while King Paluta actively promoted songs with other artistes like Sista Afia, Eno Barony, Tulenkey, and Wendy Shay, he neglected their joint project.

Joshua mentioned that King Paluta’s team claimed they use the King Paluta Army page for promotions instead of his official account. He further explained that even after multiple prompts, King Paluta reluctantly made a promotional video, which he never shared or retweeted.
