Talent Manager/Events Producer, Kiki Banson has blatantly denied and disassociated himself from a statement made by Artiste Manager, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bulldog, about him over the murder of the late Fennec Okyere.
In a recent interview with Amanda Jissih on Joy FM, Bulldog alleged that Kiki Banson was invited and questioned by the Police as part of the Fennec Okyere murder investigation.
During the interview, Mr. Hanson revealed that some industry persons, including Kiki Banson and Obour, had been questioned in connection with Fennec’s death and released and didn’t know why his had to be handled differently.
However, Kiki has revealed in an exclusive interview with Nkonkonsa.com, that he has never been officially invited or questioned by the Police over the murder of Fennec Okyere.
According to Kiki he wouldn't be surprised if his name comes up for discussion concerning the life of Fennec Okyere because Fennec was his very good friend and as far as the law and Police investigation is concerned, anybody can be a suspect but the fact is that, he has never been officially questioned by the Police as Bulldog alleged.
"I don't even understand why Bulldog will make that statement. It is different if Police invite you and make official statement for the records but I want to state emphatically that I have never been invited and questioned by the Police. No! That is not true".
Kiki explained that he visited his Police friend at the Police headquarters in Accra and coincidentally, his friend's office was close to the officer in case of the Fennec Okyere murder investigation and he overheard them saying they have arrested Bulldog as a prime suspect for Fennec's murder and because he knew both Bulldog and the late Fennec, so he joined the conversation.
"It was just a casual conversation with the Police officers and interestingly, I rather defended Bulldog and told them there was no way Bulldog would murder Fennec. So I don't even know where this is coming from".
Kiki added that he even told Bulldog about his unofficial conversation with the Police and how the conversation came about. "...And guess what. I told Bulldog everything that happened when I visited my Police friend and he knows that I have not been invited or questioned by the Police. So I don't know why Bulldog would even say that. I still don't get it", Kiki emphasized.
Fennec Okyere was killed at his Manet Gardens residence on the Spintex Road in Accra on Thursday, March 13, 2014 by unknown assailants. He died at age 31.
Bulldog, who the Police Criminal Investigative Department (CID) picked up on Thursday, April 10 as lead suspect in the murder of Fennec, was alleged to have threatened to kill Fennec.
The CID said Bulldog, who was then the manager of dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, sent several “threatening messages” both verbal and text showing his intent to kill Fennec.
Several people including Fennec's wife Amaki, Kwaw Kese, Ursula Owusu, Bice Osei Kuffor also known as Obour, Abeiku Santana, Eugene Osafo-Nkansah, Kevin Aggrey and others friends and family members of the deceased have been invited for their official statements but Kiki insists that, he is not part of those invited by the Police.
