Hilife lovers are contend with yet another up-and-coming bright talent. He is the person of King George Darko, a 26-year-old from Tandoh Odumase in the Ashanti region.

An artist by profession but currently unemployed, young George bears the same name as the King of ?Burger Highlife?, George Darko the renowned highlife guitarist.

He about to release his maiden album titled ?Ehura Ebedwa?, an eight-trade album which was recorded at Kings Frequency studio at Asylum Down in Accra where digital recording was employed. George wrote all the lyrics for the tracks as well as put up the arrangements.

He told ?Spectator Arts? that he is continuously being inspired and that he even dreams and composes songs out of the experience. He is therefore bubbling with creative ideas.

Songs like ?Onipa Nkye?, ?Odo Yewu Beba? and ?Mebre Ma Manya? feature prominently on the album. George says he currently has over 200 songs waiting to be released.

In fact, George intends to release his second album but is in dire need of a producer to add the professional touch to his work.

According to George, his main inspiration is his grandmother who was a traditional songstress in the chief?s palace. However, he admires and emulates the hilife legend, Amakye Dede, because of his inspirational lyrics. He also has a liking for Daddy Lumba.

George is still single though he is in a serious relationship and is the first child of his mother and has a brother and sister from the same parents. He also has three half brothers and five half sisters born to his father who is a cocoa farmer.

King George Darko attended the Seventh Day Adventist Junior Secondary School at Agona in the Ashanti region, before coming to Accra to seek greener pastures.

He has approached his ?idols? Amakye Dede, for assistance, advise because he intends to reach his idol?s pedestal, if not surpass it.

The determined young musician is one to look out for in the future. He has kept faith with original hilife and has not veered into hiplife or rap. He wants to continue the tradition!
