The multiple music awards winner and Medical Doctor who won the Best male vocalist at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2013 solidified his stand as one of the best vocalist and performer in the country, at the maiden edition of the Bass Awards 2013.

Weather is the lack of opportunity or bookings for shows in Ghana, have become like that of a rain on a desert, it’s hardly seen. Knii Lante’s performance over the weekend brought out the uniqueness in showmanship that the entertainment industry is fast losing, and also reminded the many music lovers and writers, of what we have been missing all this while.

At the just ended Bass Awards, when most of the acts were finding problems with their performance, Knii Lante stood tall amongst them as he gave the crowd what they have never seen before. Simply put, he was the best performance for the night.

Never seen before, nobody knew what to expect from him at the event, but after he went for the microphone, it was clear he was prepared for the night. With the microphone in hand, he gave a serious and deep short speech about African unity and its importance looking at the current situation of African countries. This got wild applauds from the audience.

When it came to his performance, he delivered his songs with clarity, he interacted with the audience and his band with search professionalism and ease, which resulted in massive applauds at the end of his performance which is very rare these days.

Though there were other performers at the event, Knii Lante’s presence on stage was one that many would not stop talking about... He really hit the cords right and gave life to a seemingly dead event.

Looking at his splendid performance, as an entertainment critic, I believe the likes of Knii Lante should be given the opportunity to bring back the lost showmanship and stage craft in showbiz, and also bless us with his good music.
