Ghanaian blogger, Kobby Kyei, has explained why he did not retaliate after he was brutally whacked in the face by Shatta Wale’s official photographer, Awuku, last month.

Though unclear what the reasons were, Kobby received a hot slap from “Awuku photos” which ended up damaging his eye, chin, and spectacles during Kofi Kinaata’s concert in Takoradi.

Shortly after the incident, Shatta Wale also joined his photographer to further abuse the blogger by making a mockery of the incident on Snapchat.

“Dirty heavy slap,” Shatta wrote on his Snapchat wall.

But reacting to the incident, the blogger said he did not hit back instantly because he has a brand to protect.

“You guys heard the fact that Shatta Wale’s photographer slapped me. It was all over the news. The reason why I never reacted was my brand image identity. At that moment when he slapped me, I was still standing. I could have retaliated but people will take pictures and it will be online forever. I have a 2-year-old baby girl and she will grow up to see it. If I go to the embassy, they will google my name,” he stated

According to Kobby, the level of respect individuals and cooperate entities had for him increased as a result of how prudently he handled the matter.

“Because of how I treated the issue I gained another level of respect from some cooperate people,” he added.
