Music maestro, Kojo Antwi, last night thrilled hundreds of ecstatic fans to a live performance of his chart-topping songs. The audience included President Kufuor, former first Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, senior government officials and some leading members of the opposition.

It was a night many had waited for. The music maestro does it once every year when public anticipation has peaked and expectation is so high. And for a gate fee of 200,000 cedis the audience left the national theatre early this morning satisfied.

Kojo Antwis excellent stagecraft was preceded by performances by other stars - Buk Bak, Nana Fynn, South African songstress- Sonti Mndebele and Alice Sofa from the Ivory Coast. Then Kojo mounted the stage on a white horse.

When he started dishing out both his old and new songs, the audience could not help but sing along and dance.

Perhaps the most exciting part of the event was when the stage was lowered with Kojo Antwi singing a love song and embracing Ezanetor Rawlings, the first daughter of former President Jerry Rawlings. When the stage was raised just a few moments later, Kojo was lying in a luxury bed with Ezanetor by his side. Those who watched the show later told JOY News that they had value for their money.

The National theatre event marks the beginning of Kojo Antwis annual nationwide tour, which this year, will see him performing in Kumasi, Takoradi and Sunyani.
