Komla Dumor left a great legacy - KSM

Satirist and TV host, Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM) says the late Komla Dumor’s life on earth was cut short has left behind a great legacy and accomplishment.

KSM said even though the BBC World TV Broadcaster didn’t finish his race, he nonetheless won the race.

“…I always say that he did not finish his race man, you know this quotation in the Bible, it says, I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept my fate. And I say with Komla he did fight a good fight, he did keep his fate but he didn’t finish his race unfortunately, even if he didn’t finish his race, he won his race”, KSM told Radio XYZ Breakfast Show host Moro Awudu on Monday.

The host of the Popular “Thank God Is Friday” show said, Komla’s journey in broadcasting makes him an unassuming legend.

Proposing a state burial for him, KSM said Komla being the first Black African to present the BBC World Service News makes him a legend that should be celebrated amongst great broadcasters like Walter Cronkite and Dan Raver in the USA.

He added: “I hope something is erected…in his memory. He did a lot, He did a great deal for this country in a very short amount of time if I may add”.

KSM also revealed that Komla’s father, Professor Ernest Dumour, had six months ago, asked for a slot on his show to educate the public about some form of arthritis which killed Komla’s mother two years ago.

“I’m going to see his father Prof, unfortunately, they buried their mother two years ago and the last time I met Prof he told me that their mother had died out of some form of arthritis which is common in Ghana but not very well known so he really wanted to get a chance on my platform to explain to people what to do if they discover that they have that form of arthritis. So he was really looking forward to being on my show.”

Komla Dumor died at his London home on Saturday after a heart attack.
