Konfi Repents & Forgives Kwaw Kese

Konfi, is one of the nation's most well known hiphop rap groups holding it down for Swedru in the Ghanaian music industry. The last thing Konfi expected was to become a tabloid for being ‘sakawa boys’ or dealing in blood money as musicians.

Last fast forward to present time, Konfi claim they have repented and all could be heard in their 'Psam 23' song. Below is the interview the boys granted us

Ghana Music.com: What are your thoughts on the gospel music industry?

Konfi: We like gospel music alot, we didn’t just stand up one day to do hip hop. We got gospel music in us right from the beginning.

Ghana Music.com: How long have you been saved? What's the story behind your conversion experience as it’s been rumored?

Konfi: We have been saved from a lot of temptations and traps of the evil ones since the release of our maiden single 'Like Father Like Son'. There has been attacks on everything that we do. We had a nice song but no shows. There were so many attacks but the Lord was our strength. The whole story now is that the Light has now shined upon us and we are no more the same.

Ghana Music.com: What is the 'Psalm 23' song and video all about?

Konfi: 'Psalm 23' is a song for all. Iit talks about God's daily protection for our lives in everything that we do. The Power of God will take us from them all. 'Psalm 23' video is the first of many videos to be released on the album as we have many singles but in every good thing there is the need to start it with God thats why this video.

Ghana Music.com: Seriously are you guys ‘sakawa boys’?

Konfi: We don't want even to answer that but for the sake of our fans, we think if we were sakawa boys we wouldn't be doing music. We will be chilling in Bahamas as most sakawa boys do. God said that the little ones will overtake the big ones but in the right sense so we want to state that 'WE ARE NOT SAKAWA BOYS'. We work hard for our music, hard for our lyrics and also work hard to get money to produce it.

Ghana Music.com: What church do you guys attend and how are you able to serve there?

Konfi: We are inter denominational and see every good church as one. When we are in church we pray and sing as any ordinary member. We even take the microphone and give testimonies to glorify the name of the Lord.

Ghana Music.com: Any prayer requests or closing words addressing the "Psalm 23"?

Konfi: Yes our prayer is that Ghanaians and the world will receive our music and also we want to see ourselves doing more gigs because we are good on stage too thats what we been doing in a minute. It is our prayer that every fan will receive his heart desire as you trust in the Lord. So Psalm 23 should be a daily devotional prayer song for everybody.

Ghana Music.com: Is the rift still between you and Kwaw Kese?

Konfi: Naah, we moving forward with our work. There is much to be done than just picking up rift. It wasn't easy getting the fans to know what Konfi and 'Wonoho' is all about, so we think we need to give them more works and thats what we been doing so far.

Ghana Music.com: How would you describe your music?

Konfi: We do all type of music hip hop, hip life and afro pop and even have some highlife rhythms so once there is base chords, drums and piano works, music will be born. WONOHO!!!

Ghana Music.com: I've checked out your singles you guys have been releasing so far, and they are hot, but when can we expect your album?

Konfi: You can expect the album in the new year thats the year of OVERTAKING WITHOUT RUNNING. Its ready with 20 tracks on the album and our fans should just expect the best from Konfi and if they been following all the singles released on Ghana Music.com they will know we here for business.
