Rev. Nicholas Kumchacha has criticised some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for attacking prophet Isaac Owusu-Bempah following his endorsement of opposition NDC candidate John Dramani Mahama.

After prophet Owusu-Bempah publicly prayed for Mahama and projected him as the chosen one for Ghana in the upcoming elections, some NPP members have since condemned the prophet.

They have cited disloyalty and betrayal, with the likes of Chairman Wontumi leading the charge against the Glorious Word Power Ministries International founder.

But in response to this, Kumchacha has argued that the NPP has no right to criticise Owusu-Bempah's choice.

“Look at how some NPP members are treating prophet Owusu-Bempah. Any NPP member who insults him is senseless. When Jesus was on Earth, he healed the sick and raised the dead. But there’s a sickness called stupidity, and that’s the one thing Jesus did not heal. Stupidity has no medicine,” he fumed on United Showbiz.

In contrast, gospel musician and staunch NPP member Diana Asamoah has also dismissed Owusu-Bempah’s prophecies, asserting that the NPP will triumph against all odds.

While some NPP members have criticised Owusu-Bempah, one of thier staunch members, Afia Schwarzenegger has defended him, claiming there’s nothing wrong with his alignment with Mahama.

She argued that, after all he did for the NPP, they treated him unfairly.

Afia recounted the period when Owusu-Bempah was arrested and remanded, stating how the party turned its back on him when he needed support the most.

Reflecting on the NPP’s lack of assistance during his ordeal, she said the experience deeply affected Owusu-Bempah.
