Kwame Owusu Ansah And Others In Holby City

Holby City is a popular BBC television show in the UK. The show has a great cast which currently includes actor Hugh Quarshie who is based in the UK. Holby City is currently filming in Ghana and through an audition cast movie superstar; Kwame Owusu Ansah and other great actors; David Dontoh and Akorfa Asiedu were picked.

On a phone conversation with Mr. CNN of Ghanaweb, Kwame expressed his excitement in being picked to cast in such a great television show like Holby City together with the other actors.

Kwame, David and Akorfa have added another great achievement in their resume. This proves that Ghana produces quality actors.

This backs our country as being the gateway to Africa and gives the Ghana film industry a boost. This great news added to the recent announcement by the Minister of Information, Mr. Dan Botwe, that the government will establish a Film Fund to ensure the availability of funds for the development of the film industry. This is a step in the right direction.

Our film industry is currently at its lowest as many Ghanaians yearning to see many great Ghanaian television shows don't see them but instead watch many Nigerian movies and appreciate the skills that come with it. Lack of major productions means lack of incentives to producing many actors/actresses in Ghana. Some day we will get there and Kwame and company will get to Hollywood; making Ghanaians proud.
