Kwamena Idan and the orphans
Ghanaian Radio broadcaster Kwamena Idan who happens to be one of the most experienced radio presenters in the country celebrated his birthday just last weekend on 21st May, 2016.
Undoubtedly, Kwamena Idan is a radio gem who on record is one of the radio broadcasters who projected Live Worships on radio in Ghana precisely in Accra. He comes from the Central Region Senya Breku to be precise in the Fetteh communities. Talking to Flex newspaper, Kwamena Idan, the host of Adom Live Worship on Adom FM told this writer that he decided to feed these orphans on his birthday since it was a special day in his life.
According to him, he went through hardship as a child and growing up to chase his life wishes was not taken from the silver platter. “In fact, even though I had a family, life was a hell.
My getting here is not by chance. It is by the Grace of the Almighty God. I never dreamt of getting to where I am, but God made it happen. On a day like this, I can’t do anything better than to reach out to children who by no mistake of theirs have lost their parents and counting on the society to make life.
We all know how the economy is hard, have we sat down just a day to think about these ones? We sit in the house, eat and throw the rest in the dustbin, we change or wardrobe every month and burn the old ones, do we think about how these young ones survives? Don’t forget, as Christians it is our obligation to cater for these orphans.
The Lord says, as you did not do for these ones, so did you not do it for me. Let us all come together and help the poor especially the orphans,” Kwamena Idan advised.
Kwamena Idan of Adom FM on his birthday donated items worth more than a 10,000 Ghana Cedis to the Village of Hope at the Gomoa Fetteh. Village of hope is one of the best and well recognized orphanage homes in Ghana where people from all walks of life visit because of how structured the place is.
Apart from the items bought with cash, Ghanaians in Ghana and those outside Ghana also donated a lot of items including cloth, food items, pair of shoes and many more items.
On the day, the likes of Apostle Paul Okoh Hackman, Prophet Alex Nana Nhyira, Prophet Ebenezer Sapor, some white friends from Europe also joined the team and some representatives from Adom FM joined their brother Kwamena Idan in the presentation.
According to the information we gathered, there were massive responses from the children and the administration for seeing Kwamena Idan in person.
