‘Kweiba’ Receives Flies In Winneba

The latest and most captivating Ghanaian movie, ‘Kweiba’, will be premiering in Winneba after a successful grand premiere at the National Theater.

The movie has been endorsed and welcomed by the chief and queen-mother of the Efutu Traditional Area. Hence plans are afoot to screen it this weekend at the Amu Theater of the University of Education, Winneba. The movie has been rated by critics and industry players as a force to reckon with and movie enthusiasts in Winneba will have their turn to see the movie.

The movie is produced by talented singer SHE, real name Yvonne Ohene Djan, who doubles as the producer and a lead actress in the movie. She has worked with most of the stalwarts in the music scene including Daddy Lumba, Ofori Amponsah, Kwabena Kwabena, Samini and the President of the Musicians Union of Ghana, Bice Osei Kuffour.

“I did ‘Daa k3 Daa’ with Becca and something also with Raquel. So far, I have featured on 160 songs and each was a hit,” the sweet-voiced singer disclosed in an interview with NEWS-ONE.

Ahead of the premiere, SHE visited Winneba to meet her fans and publicize the launch of her movie in the town. Movie enthusiasts and fans of the sexy vocalist gathered in their numbers to welcome the talented singer as she walked out of the studios of Radio Windy Bay for photo opportunities and autographs.

Chief Neenyi Ghartey VII of the area was honored to be invited to the launch and for his town hosting the second premier of the movie. He congratulated the producer and the crew for a good job done and edged them to maintain the standard they had introduced to the developing movie industry.

The movie will be premiered this Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Amu Theater of the University of Education, Winneba at 6:00pm. There will be a musical performance by Yaa Pono, a red carpet and the photo session after the premiere.

‘Kweiba’ tells a captivating story of an only child who was dearly loved by her father. Even though poor, the father did his best for his child. She falls in love and the situation turns around. Watch out for the romance and suspense. It features ace movie icons like David Dontoh, Amanorbea Doodo, Opoku Boakye, Kojo Dadson and Clement Bonny.
