Veteran actor Fred Amugi, has said the falling standards in the movie industry should be left at the door step of inexperienced hands.
The actor made the statement in an interview with Nat Sankofa T. Arthur on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM.
He told the host that if we should have more professionals in the industry, it will grow in abundance.
He quizzed, ‘’why is there a sudden rush in shooting and releasing of movies?
He also noted, the influx of businessmen with no experience in movie making have also affected the quality of movie making because these businessmen are only interested in the profit and not the quality.
He said no great film is made in days but it takes time and diligence and experience to churn out a great movie. He stressed the need for film makers to take their time and make it [movie] the best that they can.
He also lamented over the use of vulgar language in local movies, stating it is retrogressive and an act of irresponsibility.
He touched on the lack of cinemas in the country and the impact it is having on film making in the country.
When asked to assess the industry he said, just like any other profession, filmmaking goes up at a point and drops at a point.
''We do not have enough cinemas in the country. The ones we have are now centres for churches, resturants and other facilities,'' he said.
