Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil win has refuted claims that he stole the “ladder” song from the Nigerian hit song “follow The Ladder”.

According to him, he has heard on several platforms that he had been sued for violating copyright laws and for stealing a song.

But speaking in an interview with Accra-based ATV, the actor cum musician said “I have heard people saying I have stolen a song but the reality is I am creative.

Creativity is the spice of life and that is what I did with the ladder song. The women produced that song some years ago and this is the time God has brought it to the limelight and I also did my thing with it to make it new”.

He said Ladder is an English word in the dictionary so nobody can say I have stolen a song because it is in the dictionary and I used it to produce a song which Ghanaians have also shown support for.

He disclosed that he is the most loved celebrity in Ghana adding that any show without Lilwin is not a good show.

“In Ghana, apart from Lil win, there is no celebrity who is loved by the children. Any kids show without Lil win is not a show.”
