Accra, Sept. 25, GNA -The Police on Thursday told an Accra Circuit Court hearing the case in which an Estate Developer, had defrauded 48 persons of 378-million cedis that it had received complaints from other five persons.

This brings up the number of the victims to 53 and the money rising up to 411 million cedis.

The court, presided over by Mr Willywise Kyeremeh therefore, ordered the police to impound Felix Enstie's mercedes Benz car. Enstie, 37, was said to have collected monies from people under the pretext of providing them with accommodation but failed to do so. He has pleaded not guilty to defrauding by false pretences. The court refused Enstie bail and asked him to appear before it on September 30, this year.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Elizabeth Alormatu told the court that the complainants resided at various parts of Accra. On May 7 Enstsie made a verbal agreement with one of his elder sisters to have her two-storey building situated at Laterbiokorhie, near Radio Gold FM Station in Accra renovated and rented to tenants for a year.

The Prosecution said accused took advantage of the 48 complainants, including the World Harvest Church and collected various monies totalling 378 million cedis from them with the promise of offering them accommodation immediately the renovation work was completed.

Complainants, however, detected that work on the building had halted and the accused could not be traced.

Prosecution said a report was made to the Police at Korle-Bu and he was arrested and detained but was sent to the Tesano Police for a similar offence.
