Chief Executive Officer of Globe Productions, Latif Abubakar's has announced September 29, 2019 as the date for his newly unveiled stage play, The Legend.
The annual stage play is focused on real life experiences of prominent personalities who have transformed lives and promoted positive change in the society.
Noting that this play is in conjunction with the celebration of the 10th anniversary of Globe Productions, Mr Abubakar said "Globe is 10 years today. At 10 years, we at globe believe that it is time to tell our narratives and it is time to tell our stories hence the introduction of a new theatre product dubbed "The Legend Play".
He added that this newly launched stage play, just like his 14 produced plays is to inspire, entertain, and educate the over 30,000 patrons with the real life experiences of Ghanaian legends.
The playwright also said aside the aforementioned, there would be a celebration of Ghanaian legends with a lifetime achievement award.
Revealing who the legend for this new play is, National Chief Imam of Ghana, Sheikh Dr Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu he said will play the role of lead character for this maiden edition of ‘The Legends Play’ after three years of planning.
Speaking about the uniqueness of the play, the playwright noted that, “the personalities whom we term as the legend are involved in the play and the personalities themselves are going to play a role in the play”.
Other characters for this intriguing stage play are, Most Reverend Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle, Apostle Professor Kwadwo Nimfuor Opoku Onyinah, the Chairman of the National Peace Council, Most Revered Professor Emmanuel Asante Most among other legendary.
The stage play will be showcased at 4pm and 8pm on September 29, 2019 at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra.
