Veteran comedian Ali Baba has stated that instead of pressuring wives who earn more to quit their jobs, insecure men should rather quit theirs.
His comments come in response to news circulating online about how a husband forced his wife to resign because she made more money.
While questioning the truth of the story, Ali Baba pointed out that some men base their self-worth on financial status, feeling threatened by successful women.
In an Instagram post, he expressed his strong opinion that if a wife earns significantly more, the husband should be the one to reconsider his position.
He stated, “Who are these women falling for such lies? If you earn N10 million a month and your husband earns N1.5 million, why would you resign? That suggests his confidence is tied to financial status, insecurities, indeed!”
He added, “So, should Stedman tell Oprah Winfrey to resign? Who raises men whose self-esteem is defined by money? Instead of feeling challenged, they should strive to improve their own financial standing.”
