It’s a beautiful feeling when someone tells you “I wish I knew you earlier” but it’s sad when you have the one you love and wish to spend the rest of your life with, and yet still be entangled with people who belong in your past who are still holding hands with you. This makes their presence cost your present relationship so much pain.

You are hurting someone you love and wish to spend a lifetime with just because you can’t let go of previous relationships or Ex.

I am talking about soul ties, a deep bond that is developed between two or more individuals through an unhealthy relationship leading to addictive, manipulative or even violent behaviour.

It is a total shame to hear a husband or wife claim that their Ex are their best friends. This got me thinking, what was the meaning of their vows? Were they just empty words to them? What does it mean to forsake all others for your spouse?

If your husband or wife is not your best friend then you are letting your marriage down. Marriage is supposed to be the safest relationship you can ever have with another human being. It is a covenant between two best friends, a friendship that should last a lifetime.

S?x is one act that should never be practiced outside marriage because of the consequences involved. S?x joins bodies and in the process, souls get tied. Be it a one-night stand with a prostitute, or a random affair mistakenly had with someone you know from the past, etc soul tie is likely to happen.

The bible says “And don’t you realize that if a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? For the Scriptures say, “The two are united into one” – 1 Corinthians 6:16 (NLT).

The danger about soul tie is, if the one you had s?x with is under demonic attack, you inherit it without knowing. If they had a bad spirit, character or attitude you inherit that. Another danger is, you can’t seem to let go of the relationship you had with them even though you know it’s killing you.

Anytime you have issues in your marriage, the thought of these people you had s?x with are constantly present in your mind, you get confused and even doubt your marriage, thinking you married the wrong person; and that the other person is rather the best for you.

For those who have mistaken lust for love, if your relationship with others is destroying your marriage, the marriage God gave you as a blessing, then what you have for these people is not love. It is lust and lust is a sin. It does you no good but only destroys you.

In conclusion “He who has no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down and without walls” – Proverbs 25:28 (MEV)
