With the fast rate that popular actor cum musician, Kwadwo Nkansah also known as Lil Win, churns out songs, some of his fans are understandably worried why he hasn’t released any song for some time now.

Well the actor turn musician said, he is scared of releasing a song lately because he fears, it might not get the needed attention.

Speaking in an interview with SVTV Arica, the comic actor and musician who is currently in the USA for a show told host DJ Nyaami that, the recent issues in Ghana, from shutting downs of banks to pastors making defamatory comments to the murder of the chief in Kumasi and all that, prevents him from releasing a song since he fears the song might not get the needed attention it deserves hence, the need to plan well before releasing a song in Ghana.

“Since I left to the USA, I’ve heard a lot of issues going on in Ghana. I’ve heard pastors passing defamatory comments, a chief been murdered in the Ashanti region and a lot of issues. So now in Ghana, the moment an artist releases a song, something will happen to take away the needed the attention the song deserves. I don’t know who does that, the artiste will take his time to write songs, fix the date, shoot a video and the moment he releases the song, something will happen to take the shine away.”

“For me, I’m okay with it, but it is disturbing my fellow artiste because me, I’m a movie actor, and God so good, people watch my movies but my fellow artiste rely on music for daily bread, they invest a lot into their craft, so after releasing a song and it doesn’t get the needed attention due to all these issues, it becomes a waste of resources and time, which is bad.”

Asked how does these unfortunate happenings in Ghana affect the music industry, the Kumawood actor pointed out that;

“The attention shifts away from the song. Imagine about ten thousand people have queued for ticket to a show and all of a sudden, there is a fight near the place, do you think all the ten thousand people will still be there? No! they will leave and when the fight is over, and the love for the show is there, they’ll return.”

Nkansah, who is set to release a song on September 2nd noted that, even if all Ghanaians disappear from the earth, he will still release the song.

Lil Win’s much-anticipated song is titled ‘Sor Me So’ featuring the rave of the moment AMG Medikal.
