A young and enterprising gospel music star, Lizzy Okrah, whose presence in the gospel music industry has attracted a large following, is determined to use her music to promote the work of Christ.
Lizzy is a seasoned, spirit-filled gospel artiste who usually sweeps audiences off their feet whenever she performs live on stage.
Her consistency as an anointed gospel artiste has made a tremendous impact in motivating and inspiring so many people, both in and out of her church.
She happens to be one of the few young dedicated gospel artistes in the country who are working tirelessly to use music to uplift the image of God.
Lizzy Okrah told BEATWAVES that she developed a strong passion for spreading the gospel of Christ through music, adding that her 10-track album is a delight to listen to as the lyrics focus on real life issues.
According to her, since music is good for the soul, it is her duty to compose music that would educate, entertain and encourage everybody, including the downhearted.
She hinted that looking at the calibre of talented gospel music stars in Ghana today, Ghana’s gospel music industry has a bright future.
The gospel song bird noted that it is time for the gospel industry to expect great things from God, adding that God is ready to support every gospel musician who invites Him into his or her life.
The lyrics of her songs and her good vocal power are neatly arranged with sensational and inspirational rhythms, making the album unique and pleasing to the ear.
Her contribution to the music industry in Ghana would undoubtedly add to the rich repertoire of musical works that the country already has.
Lizzy Okrah is seen as an inspiration, and her looks cannot make one think of anything less. She has indeed proven beyond all reasonable doubt that she really has come to stay.
She released her first album, ‘Gyae Su’ in 2002 under Despite Music Label, of which her father was the executive producer.
In 2006, Lizzy released her second album, ‘Osoro Bete’, which became an instant hit on the music market and also received massive airplay.
After the release of her second album, she decided to further her education and enrolled at the Trans African College and after completion last year, she continued to Regent University where she is currently studying Banking and Finance.
Her latest album, ‘My Jesus’, which will be released later this month, is on Media Excel Music label which has Kwesi Ernest Ennin as its chief executive officer.
The album is made up of praise and worship songs and almost all the songs have danceable beats. Most of the songs are in English.
The creativity in the compositions of her songs is also commendable. Some of the songs on the album include ‘Waye Ama Me’, ‘Ndase Ndwom’ and a host of others.
