Renowned Ghanaian marriage counselor and author, Frank Edem Adofoli has dismissed the erroneous impression that love is blind.
He argues that love has eyesight and sees the best in someone when others see the worst in that person adding that love sees beauty while the rest see ugly and sees wealth in a person while others see poverty.
In his latest article, he said “Love sees the future while others see just today. Love hopes while others give up. Love sees strength while others see weakness. Love sees trust while others see doubt. To love is to see special in the ordinary. Love is beautiful, love is wonderful, love is amazing, love is deep”

Sometimes parents wonder why the daughters on whom they have spent so much to raise, and with their level of education and intelligence, get stuck in a relationship with a broke guy and refuse to accept marriage proposal from a rich man they think is best for her.
At times some friends wonder why their mate has refused to accept a pretty lady they recommended or one who is dying to be with him and instead stays stuck with a lady they think is ugly for him.
At some weddings, you wonder why a pretty lady agreed to marry a not-so-good-looking man. A man most women will dismiss in a hurry.
In all these examples, the frequent answer you get is “I love him or her”. Some are tempted to think love is blind. But the truth is, love is not blind, love can see.
Love sees the best in someone when others see the worst in the person. Love sees beauty while the rest see ugly. Love sees wealth in a person while others see poverty.
Love sees the future while others see just today. Love hopes while others give up. Love sees strength while others see weakness. Love sees trust while others see doubt.
To love is to see special in the ordinary. Love is beautiful, love is wonderful, love is amazing, love is deep.
Song of Solomon 8:7 (TLB) says “Many waters cannot quench the flame of love, neither can the floods drown it. If a man tried to buy it with everything he owned, he couldn’t do it.” Love is simply a Gift.
It’s a blessing to be loved. When people love you, your flaws, mistakes don’t matter to them. They see beyond that; “love makes up for many of your faults” – 1 Peter 4:8b (TLB).
Love makes up for the shortfalls of each other. What is weakness in one partner is a strength in the other; when the going gets tough, the strongest person makes time to help the weakest. They are one unit, one component with the positive and negative working for their good.
Being in love brings the best in you, because the other person who loves you sees what you don’t see at times, and encourages you to be.
Love understands, love forgives, love never gives up. To love also means you see a part of you in someone. Just as you can’t give up on yourself, it’s hard to give up on the one you love.
Love is a lifetime friendship, a friendship that lasts and is not limited to a number of years, not five, ten, twenty, but a lifetime.
In conclusion “Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit”. – 1 Corinthians 13:8 (MSG).
