Lumba re-union to raise ¢2bn

After going their separate ways for several years, the Lumba Brothers, comprising Nana Acheampong and Charles Kojo Fosu, alias Daddy Lumba, have reconnected for a major musical work to be outdoored in two weeks.

At a press soiree held at the Biggies Pub in Accra at the weekend to launch the collaboration, it was announced that, the two will stage a concert in Accra to outdoor the album, aimed at raising ¢2 billion to support the Black Stars’ campaign in the CAN 2008 football event and Ghana’s participation at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.



Speaking to Showbiz at the event, the Vice President of the Ghana Olympic Committee, Mr Frank Appiah said the concert will be one of the biggest shows ever to be held in the country and will climax the Golden Jubilee celebration of Ghana. He therefore entreated all to be part of it.



The Public Relations Officer for Ghana Base Management, organisers of the event, Mr Emmanuel Yeboah, said the re-union concert was being organised also to clear the rumour which has been circulating to the effect that the two musical brothers have been at loggerheads



After the album launch, the two will stage another live concert on December 26, 2007 at the Trade Fair Centre in Accra where they will perform to the admiration of all.

Dubbed “The Mega Close Up Musical Show” the concert is the brain child of Ghana Base Management Limited, in collaboration with Base Management UK and Match West Africa and is being sponsored by MTN and Stanbic Bank.



It is intended as a platform to rally support from all Ghanaians from all walks of life to help raise funds in support of the Black Stars and the Olympic team.



The musical concert will also receive support from other musicians such as Obour, Obrafour, Castro, Wutah, Mzbel, Nana Quame, Wulomei, Daasebre Gyamena and Owuraku Mickey.
