The Luv Fm Skuuls Reunion on Saturday raised excitement in the Garden City to fever pitch levels.

The forecourt of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium was filled to capacity as participating schools thrilled patrons with games and jama songs, while invited musical artistes threw the crowd into frenzy.

The event kicked off with the jama competition where the schools sought to outdo each other with their drumming and chanting.

Defending champions, the Titans from the University of Education, Winneba, Mampong, could not hold on to their title won last year - they could only manage second place as the Teachers from Mampong Technical Teachers College were too much for them to handle.

T.I. Ahmadiya (Amass), Kumasi known for their dominance in athletics proved they were worth more than running on tracks and won the 5-aside soccer challenge.

The highlight of day was the Azonto challenge by folks from girls’ schools. The competition was so keen the judges and the crowd could not decide on who should be crowned winner.

And if you thought the ladies were the best at Azonto, you should have seen the gents who screamed for want of an opportunity to beat the ladies to the dance.

The Skuuls Reunion reached its peak of excitement with various dazzling performances from Oseikrom musical artistes.

Top hip life art, Sydney and born-again Lord Kenya thrilled the crowd, whiles sensational R2Bs climaxed the event with their popular “Agyeiii” track – they were virtually drowned by the sing along crowd.

Patrons described the event as the most thrilling outdoor event of the year in the Garden City.

The 2011 Luv Fm Skuuls Reunion was sponsored by Schweppes Malt from CocaCola, Protector Plus Condoms, NIIT, St. Ben Jewelerry, Jayee University College, Obotantim Liquid Soap and Las Palmas Food Centre.
