Producers of Big Brother Africa have not given up this on year’s 9th edition after several issues and scandals ahead of the show which was initially scheduled to begin on Sunday September 7, 2014.

A statement released on the Big Brother Africa official website reads:

“Following the devastating fire on 2 September 2014 at the Big Brother house in Johannesburg, M-Net and Endemol SA have spent the last 48 hours searching both locally and internationally for a venue in which to produce Season 9 of the highly popular Big Brother Africa reality show.

After exploring all possible options, the team is delighted to announce that the show will go on as a venue has been found to get the show on air within the next month.

A multitude of factors have had to be considered including the complex technical requirements, logistics, technical crews and satellite link facilities which have all formed part of the challenge.

However, M-Net is delighted to assure all its Big Brother fans that their favourite reality show will launch soon and thanks fans from across the continent for their support during the last two days."

This comes after a devastating fire outbreak that resulted in the collapse of the building in South Africa where this year’s edition of BBA was to be filmed, and all previous seasons of BBA were filmed.

Meanwhile Anne Sackey, Marketing and Communications Manager at MultiChoice Ghana, disclosed yesterday on Peace FM’s “Entertainment Review” that organizers of Big Brother Africa (Endemol SA and M-Net) are currently looking around South Africa and other African countries with adequate facilities to host the Big Brother Hotshot.

She pointed out that even though the organizers are searching for a different location in South Africa and other countries if they however find a suitable place in Nigeria, they will move to Nigeria to commence the reality show.

The contestants from all the participating countries are however in South Africa currently. This is to enable them sign the necessary contracts, go for photo-shoots for publicity, and get themselves oriented before the show takes place.

It is not yet known if the contestants will be allowed to go back to their various countries or continues to stay in South Africa until a venue is found and a new date is set for the show to begin.
