Renowned sound engineer, Appiah Dankwah, popularly known as Appietus has called on all members of the Musician Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) to be fleet-footed to have their names recorded in the voters list before 2019.

The multiple award winning producer said Obour’s administration has put out new strategy which will in effect limit many members of the association from exercising their franchise for a new MUSIGA President in 2020.

According to Appietus, after he had raised a concern which allowed only 150 members to vote during Obour’s second term election thereby disenfranchising other members, the concern was duly addressed but this time members who are unable to register before 2019 wouldn’t be allowed to take part in the voting processes in 2020.

The ‘Talent Discovery and Development’ Director at MUSIGA’s office pleaded with all members of the association to take the registration of voters exercise seriously from now to 2019.

Appietus stated that it has now be made opened to all members but the new restriction to all members is that if any member refuses to register now and the time approaches for the voting they won’t be allowed.

“Currently Obour is using another law to limit members who wants to vote. If any member of MUSIGA wishes to vote in 2020, he or she should register now and those members who fail to register now will not be allowed to register in 2019 hence can’t vote in 2020. Please if anyone wants to vote for me (Appietus), he should go and register now.”

Appietus has expressed his intention to contest MUSIGA president Bice Osei Kufour known as Obour for the second time when the music body holds its next elections in 2020.

“If we are still alive and strong, I will contest but for now it is too early to declare my intentions”. Appietus said on Zylofon FM.

He has worked and produced hits and classic songs from his Dansoman based Creative Studioz with the likes of Daddy Lumba (DL), Ofori Amponsah, Kwabena Kwabena, Wutah, Praye, Sarkodie, K.K Fosu, Rex Omar, Okyeame Kwame, Kojo Antwi, 4×4, Lucky Mensah, George Darko, Rana, Lucky Star, Sidney, Kofi Nti, Samini, Obrafour, Castro, Bradez, Becca, Okomfour Kwaadee, Kwaw Kese, D2, 5Five, Asase Abban and Don Itchii.
