MUSIGA condemns indecent assault on artiste at KNUST

Accra, Oct. 8, GNA - The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has condemned Saturday's indecent assault on Mzbel a member of the Union during a live performance at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

A statement issued in Accra and signed by Alhaji Sidiku Buari, President of the Union described the students' action as unfortunate, barbaric and uncivilised and welcomed the institution of a committee to investigate the affair.


The statement said until the case was properly investigated and the culprits brought to book, no musician would perform at any event organised by the University.

Any musician who would flout the directive would be severely dealt with, the statement said.


It demanded an "unqualified apology from the University authorities, the Students Representative Council and the organisers of the event" for the trauma that the lady went through. "As the pinnacle of learning, the Union least expected such indecent attack on the young lady artiste by a group of students", the statement added. n
