Highlife veteran, Henry De-Mensah aka Nana Quame has launched a scathing attack on the Musician Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) saying the body has outlived its purpose hence needs to be shut down.

According to him, MUSIGA has been discriminating when dealing with a section of musicians, stating that the union only tries to reach them when their services are required.

Nana Quame in an interview with host of Kasapa Entertainment on Kasapa 102.5FM, Kojo Preko Dankwa expressed disappointment in the MUSIGA leadership when some selected musicians where informed secretly to honour a radio personality who was celebrating his birthday.

“How many people did Obour’s secretary call to attend Kwami Sefa Kayi’s birthday honour.

“There are some issues which need to be dealt with especially as MUSIGA President is being selective in his approach when dealing with musicians. MUSIGA only calls you when they need you.”

He advised Obour to take into concern the interest of the musician and not his own personal conviction.

When asked if he has been helped by MUSIGA in his music career, he said “MUSIGA has never helped me in anyway.”

According to Nana for seven years COSGA now GHAMRO gave him GH¢400.00 as his royalties so had to return the money since he felt cheated.
