The President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bessa Simons, has called on members of the Union to subscribe to the MUSIGA SIC-Life Insurance scheme to realize the benefits of the scheme.

Bessa Simons was speaking at a ceremony to sign the agreement for the scheme. He indicated that this is the third year of the Life Insurance scheme for MUSIGA members. He noted that over the three-year period, various members all over the country have been beneficiaries of the scheme, saying that is the reason why members have to subscribe.

“Accidents and emergencies are unannounced, and they confront us when we least expect, hence the need to be protected against such unfortunate occurrences,” Bessa Simons noted.

On his part, the MUSIGA General Secretary, S.K. Agyemang, expressed his excitement at the signing of the contract. He noted that the scheme is a buffer against unforeseen challenges and also encouraged all musicians to sign up for the scheme.

Under the scheme, families that lose a MUSIGA member who is subscribed to the scheme will receive GHC 5,000.00, apart from other benefits such as permanent disability support, child benefits, and parental benefits, among others.

On his part, Andrew Adu-Asante of the Corporate Group Business department of SIC-Life congratulated MUSIGA for such an initiative which would benefit its members. SIC Life was represented by Andrew Adu-Asante, Elliot Botchway, and Alfred Codjoe of the Corporate Group Business Department. Others were Mary-Joan Acheampomaa and Ampem Loretta Yamnobiya Anafu of the Group Underwriting Department.
