Veteran Ghanaian actress, Grace Omaboe, popularly known as Maame Dokono, is making a comeback on the silver screens ten years after she went missing in action.

The onetime hot actress, who commands great respect, is currently back on set, filming for Poison Bate, a web series being directed by reputable Ghanaian director, Leila Djansi, for Iroko TV.

The 66-year-old actress was recently in the news over her comments in the media that she 'missed acting'.

Latest photos by NEWS-ONE from Leila’s set over the weekend captured the old actress in full flight with visible smiles. She seemed to be saying, “I am finally back. Let’s do this again.”

She was putting a legendary performance on the set as crew members lined up on the set on Sunday to watch her do her thing once again.

“I am amazed at how everybody is here today to watch filming. Yesterday it wasn’t like that. Everybody wants to watch Auntie Grace,” Leila openly said about Maame’s presence on set on Sunday.

She is however yet to officially talk about Maame Dokono’s role, though it appears she is playing a supporting role alongside Marie Humbert and Adjatey Anang.

Grace, a proud mother of six and grandmother of 10, is one of the finest actresses the country has produced.

She started acting many years ago when she first featured in the well-acclaimed Television drama series, 'Keteke' on GTV.

She played the role of a Kenkey seller at a Railway Station, along with David Dontoh as ‘Ghana man’, and she developed into a versatile playwright from there.

At a point when the issues portrayed in ‘Keteke’ outgrew the boundaries of the Railway Station, Maame Dokono moved on to form the ‘Obra’ Theatre group whose ‘Obra’ Series on GTV did tremendously well, focusing on a wider aspect of societal issues than Keteke, which it replaced.

She was one of the influential faces on 'By the Fireside,' a story telling kid's program. She at a point meddled in politics and also ran an orphanage when she went off the acting scene.

Currently, she runs a school, Graceful Grace Academy in Adenta.
