Veteran actress, Grace Omaboe (Maame Dokono) has registered her displeasure over an impression created by Akwasi Boadu (Akrobeto) that she dated colleague, David Dontoh when the ‘Deadly Voyage’ actor already had a wife, Abrantepa.com has taken notice.
The 72 year-old actress was reported to have said on Starr FM on Wednesday that she dated David Dontoh for 4 years in the past because she needed someone to help ward off the many men that pestered her with love proposals.
“David Dontoh held me together and handled me well. At that time I was popular, beautiful and many, different men were all over me when I am on stage, so I needed someone to hold me,” she said.
But the actress while speaking on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review, Saturday, was unhappy about how Akrobeto presented the issue on ‘Real News’, a programme which runs on UTV.
“I was single; David was single. Akrobeto created the impression that I snatched someone’s husband. He said when I was asked, I denied it. As if I’m his daughter. That is not how news is anchored. He has disgraced me,” she posited.
As monitored by Abrantepa.com, Maame Donoko said although she watches and enjoys how Akrobeto presents the news, the adulterous impression he created about her was unfortunate and should therefore render an unqualified apology.
“David’s wife knows I dated him before they met. We have a very good relationship. The way Akrobeto said it, I didn’t like it. He should apologise to me. What is that,” she fumed.
Host of the show, Akwasi Aboagye consequently apologized to the veteran while explaining that the concept of the ‘Real News’ is to present stories in a humorous manner as such, comments passed by Akrobeto should not be taken seriously.
Meanwhile, Maame Dokono has explained they could not tie the knot because of three reasons.
“The reason David and I couldn’t get married was childbirth. I told him I was done but he wanted children. I already had children from my previous marriage and in most cases; I underwent caesarean sections so I was weak. Age was also a factor. I was older than him. It got to a point I thought I was wasting his time,” she recounted.
