This year’s edition of TV3’s Talented Kidz reality show came to an end on Sunday evening after brilliant performances by all 10 kid contestants at the TV3’s studio B in Accra.

Twelve-year-old singer, Maame Esi Awotwe from the Most Holy Heart School, Dansoman, managed to beat nine other dazzling kids to emerge the winner with a cash prize of GH¢3,000, a laptop, a hamper from Cowbell and boxes of Indomie.

The first and second runners, Enoch Darko and violinist Crystal Abena Nyamekye, took home cash prizes of GH¢2,000 and GH¢1000 respectively. They both had additional prizes of hampers from Cowbell and boxes of Indomie.

It was indeed a thrilling grand finale as the finalists mounted the stage to give out their all. Patronage was also intense as friends and families trooped TV3 premises in their numbers to be part of the occasion. Music stars such as Nat Brew, DSP Kofi Sarpong, Dance champion Adjetey Sowah and Reggie Rockstone were also there to give the show a boost.

The show kicked off at exactly 5pm with an all contestants’ performance of Nat Brew’s Kpanlogo rhythms. This was followed by a magnificent display of Michael Jackson’s dance steps by students of Sam School Preparatory.

That set the stage for the contestants to entertain their audience, while presenter Jozie struggled with her breath control in introducing them. Maame Esi started off with a remarkable prayer, which got all and sundry cheering her on. Subsequently she performed Lucky Dube’s song with a message on freedom.

The judges were left with no choice than to give her a positive nod. “I love it. You sung in key, you did all that you needed to do,” Paulina Oduro commented. Her act was followed by Angels on the violin. Then came Emmanuel Darko, the rapper, then Monalisa, the dancer and Felix Amposah on the base guitar.

Those that followed were Enoch Darko, dancers Sam Busters, Ruth Frema Amofa, Tyra Asiedu and Crystal Abena Nyamekye on the violin. The second segment saw the kids do duets with their celebrities.

Their performances were admired by the judges, Paulina Oduro and Uncle Benedict, as well as the studio audiences. Sam Busters opened the segment with a performance with Dela of Hewale sounds. Maame Esi rocked with Akosua Adjapong while rappers Emmanuel Darko and Ruth performed alongside grand papa Reggie Rockstone.

Monalisa and the Angels also had their turn with Dance Champion Adjetey Sowah while Enock Darko paired with Kwakwa, a comedian.

Crystal and Tyra also had applauds from the audience and the judges, after their performance with Kwame Thomas (German Violinist) and Nat Brew respectively. All the kids performed creditably well on the night but Maame Esi really deserved the win.
