A board member of the National Commission on Culture and founder of Osibisa, Mac Tontoh would today participate in a programme dubbed Mac Tontoh and the Kids to promote the Ghanaian culture.

The programme, being organised by Mac Tontoh's Hotnot and TV Africa, is expected to be attended by students from the primary and junior secondary school levels, prominent state personalities, chiefs among others.

This is the second time such a programme is being organised "to make the young ones sensitive to our cultural heritage," the Public Affairs Director, Sam Adams said.

Speaking to the ADM yesterday after a rehearsal, Mac Tontoh promised an interesting show today and said it would inculcate in the youth the need to preserve our culture.

He said there would be performances in traditional dances, music, storytelling, drama, poetry and others. Certificates and awards would be given to the schools which would excel in the various segments.

He said Hotnot was formed to ensure the preservation "and repackaging of a unique African heritage," since African culture has not enjoyed the prominence it deserves "due to the invasion of western culture."
