Ghanaian musician and songwriter, Kwame Nsiah-Apau, popularly known as Okyeame Kwame has named his latest album ‘Made in Ghana’ as the hottest project that he has worked on.
He enunciated that it was not easy to get in touch with all those he featured on the album that encourages Ghanaians to be proud of their culture and heritage.
“Made in Ghana is the hottest project that I have done. Ten years ago, ‘Ayensem’ made me win awards but this album talks about Ghana, an album that motivates Ghanaians, talks about tribalism and other petty things. It was not easy to gather all those who were featured on the album,” he told Suncity 97.1 FM’s Melvina Frimpong Manso in an interview which was monitored by www.newshuntermag.com.
When asked the impact that he wants the album to have, Okyeame posited: “I want this album to be on the playlists of every DJ/Presenter…people should make good use of it and take a cue from it. I want this album to revive highlife. This album should tell politicians who take bribes to stop.”
The Rap Doctor disclosed that all the artistes on the album are ‘Made in Ghana’ ambassadors.
Okyeame Kwame stressed his readiness to mentor all budding musicians who were featured on the ‘Made in Ghana’ album.
For so many years of carving a niche for himself, Okyeame gave credit to Amakye Dede and Kojo Antwi for advising him.
“I send my recordings to Amakye Dede and Kojo Antwi…they have been in the system for a long time so I have to tap into their experience. I listen to whatever advice they give me,” he stated.
