Controversial movie producer, Socrate Safo has told President John Dramani Mahama to throw his weight behind Reggie Zippy And Bollie now known in X Factor as Menn On Point.

Socrate on Pluzz FM Sunday afternoon told KMJ, host of the show that the two Ghanaians who just qualified to Boot Camp, the next stage of the British reality show are promoting Ghana internationally and they need the support of government.

According to him, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Creative Arts should alert the president on the efforts made by the two Ghanaians who are representing Ghana well in UK.

“The minister must follow some of these things and just send a minute to the president or call the president and tell him “Mr. President, we have two of our sons marketing Ghana on international platform for free”.

They said they are from Ghana, West Africa. People are going to google and check what businesses are in Ghana, even entertainment business. They are going to follow Ghana to even see who the president is and which party the president is from”.

Socrate Safo continued that “these are some of the reasons why we pick ministers but not just to grace occasions, functions and give speeches. You do some of these strategic moves”.

He advised the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Creative Arts to “take the tape, minute it to the president and tell him what needs to be done now. By today the president should send a message or say something in the media for the media to pick it up.”

Socrate Safo said the president’s words about the two artistes will attract international attention on Ghana and promote the Menn On Point group at X Factor.

“the president can comment about it and the international press will pick it up. The organisers of X Factor need this push but we need it more. These are some of the things I think a strategic government should do”.

On comments that it is too early for the president to publicly come out and comment about the two artistes at X Factor, Socrate Safo opined that “this is not too early. This is the right time. Every month we are paying the minister to do some of these things not just to grace occasions and give speech which has been written by someone. Something has happened and we are using it to sell the country so we need to help them.

They did not just say Ghana West Africa for nothing. If we commend them, it will motivate others to do more internationally.”
